Nikon COOLPIX W300 Captures Your Most Rugged Adventures in 4K UHD

"Show the world what you’re made of"

Nikon COOLPIX W300, the action adventure camera

Nikon COOLPIX W300 series

As an addition to their A130 family of adventure cameras, Nikon announced the release of the COOLPIX W300. It’s more of an update than an addition, designed to capture and share high-quality images and shoot ultra HD videos. Like the A130, the W300 is shock and weather resistant.  In a press release, Nikon’s Marketing Director Kosuke Kawaura sets the bar high. He says “For those experiencing a once in a lifetime vacation, the COOLPIX W300 captures life’s adventures in stunning 4K UHD quality with improved handling and advanced performance”.

Rugged enough to handle the Roughest Situations

“Featuring a 16-megapixel CMOS backside illuminated (BSI) sensor, the COOLPIX WS300 captures stunning quality images even in low-light”. The camera can tolerate water depths up to a 100 ft. It can also survive a 8 ft free fall and temperatures as low as 14F. Increased grip area and ergonomically placed shutter button makes underwater exploration and venturing out in the snow storm a breeze. In dim light condition, the dedicated LED light helps illuminate the shot.

Access and Share on the go

Users can precisely pinpoint the location of their captures with the inbuilt GPS and can be used to explore remote areas with ease. It comes with built-in Wi-Fi3 and Bluetooth-2 which allows for automatic transfer of captured images onto the user’s smart devices.
With the SnapBridge app, users can also operate the COOLPIX W300 remotely with a smart device, and explore their creativity hands-free.

Life-like images and 4K Ultra High Definition Videos

Out of the box, the WS300 comes equipped with wide-angle 5x optical zoom NIKKOR lenses. It covers 24mm wide-angle and 120mm telephoto shot angles, with a maximum aperture of f/2.8. Get up and close to the moment with Nikon’s 5x optical zoom wide-angle lens and 10x dynamic fine zoom for images from a distance. The WS300 also packs hybrid VR technology. This is possible due to the 4K UHD video capability that the device comes with.

Set a unique perspective for all once in a lifetime images and videos with creative functions like time-lapse and super-lapse. Clips can also be combined to create short compilations with background music and stereo sound effects using the Short Movie Show option – very ideal for online sharing.
